Privacy Policy

What the LookerDress website does with information about visitors today, and what is still to be confirmed.

Updated

This page has not yet been reviewed by counsel. Text in square brackets beginning "Placeholder" marks details still to be confirmed. Don't treat it as final until this notice is removed.

This policy describes what the LookerDress website does with information about visitors as the site stands today. [Placeholder: this is a draft and has not been reviewed by counsel; it must be replaced with a reviewed policy before this site collects real visitor data.]

What the site does today

  • The site's own code does not set cookies and does not load analytics or advertising tags.
  • The Dress Finder saves your answers in your browser's local storage so you can pick up where you left off. They stay on your device. A results link contains your answers in encoded form, so anyone you send the link to can see them. The answers sit in the part of the address after the # sign, which your browser does not send to us.
  • The contact form is not connected yet: nothing you enter in it is passed on to anyone or stored.
  • The newsletter signup is not connected yet: nothing you enter in it is passed on to anyone or stored.
  • Links to retailers take you to the retailer's site, which has its own privacy policy. How those links are marked is explained in the Affiliate Disclosure.
  • Product photos on pages that list Amazon products load from Amazon's own image server, which then receives your IP address and browser details, as any image server does. Your browser is asked not to tell Amazon which page you were on.

Hosting and server logs

[Placeholder: the hosting provider, what request information it records (such as IP address and browser type), and how long that information is kept will be confirmed by counsel and described here.]

Analytics and advertising tags

No analytics or advertising tags are switched on. If one is switched on, this section will name it, say what it collects and who receives it, and explain your choices.

Sale and sharing of personal information

[Placeholder: a statement on the sale or sharing of personal information, to be confirmed by counsel once the site's analytics and advertising tags are known.]

Your choices

[Placeholder: applicable privacy rights, such as access or deletion requests under a specific state or national law, and how to exercise them, will be confirmed with counsel and added here.]

Contact

The form on the contact page is not connected yet. [Placeholder: a privacy contact method and the governing jurisdiction will be added here once confirmed.]
